Early Childhood Dance

Pre-Dance

Ages: 3-4 years

Class Length: 30 minutes

Pre-Dance introduces young dancers to movement through music, imagination, and creative exploration. Classes focus on developing coordination, rhythm, balance, and spatial awareness while encouraging creativity and confidence. Dancers explore fundamental movement skills such as; jumping, turning, stretching, and traveling through space in a fun and supportive environment. 
 

Dance Exploration

Ages: 4 year-old with at least one year of dance experience OR 5 year-old beginning dance

Class Length: 30 minutes

Dance Exploration introduces young dancers to a variety of dance styles while continuing to build fundamental movement skills. Dancers explore styles such as; jazz, lyrical, and hip-hop while developing musicality, coordination, and studio skills. This class helps dancers discover different styles before moving into more focused technique classes.

Recreational Dance Styles

​Beginning at age 6, dancers move into style-specific classes designed to build technique, strength, and performance skills.

Class Lengths:

  • Ages 6-8 years: 45 minutes

  • Ages 9-12 years: 60 minutes

  • Ages 13+ years: 60 minutes

JAZZ/LYRICAL: 6+ years

This class focuses on developing strong foundational technique in both jazz and lyrical dance. Dancers work on turns, jumps, flexibility, musicality, and expressive movement while learning choreography that blends the energy of jazz with the storytelling elements of lyrical dance. ​

TAP: 6+ years

Tap classes focus on rhythm, musicality, and precise footwork. Dancers learn to create rhythmic patterns and sounds while developing coordination, timing, and control. 

HIP-HOP: 6+ years

Hip-hop classes explore a variety of street dance styles and grooves from the 1990s through today. Dancers build rhythm, strength, coordination, and confidence while learning energetic choreography in a fun and supportive environment.

ACRO: 6+ years

Acro Dance combines dance technique with elements of acrobatics. Dancers develop strength, flexibility, balance, and control while learning foundational acro skills such as; rolls, bridges, walkovers, and progressions that safely integrate acrobatic movement into dance choreography. Classes focus on safe skill progression, proper technique, and building strength and flexibility to support both acro and overall dance training. 

CONTEMPORARY: 9+ years

Contemporary dance blends elements of lyrical, jazz, and modern dance with an emphasis on musical interpretation and emotional expression. Dancers explore movement quality, floor work, and improvisation while developing strength, fluidity, and artistry. 

BALLET: 5+ years

Our ballet program follows Canadian Dance Teachers' Association (CDTA) guidelines. Classes are offered in graded levels, and dancers are placed according to age, experience, and teacher recommendation. Ballet provides essential training in posture, alignment, strength, and discipline and supports development in all dance styles.
